In 2015 we have provided many weeks of formal work experience for a diverse group of unemployed young people working on the pilot programmes of the national BBC Make It Digital Scheme, getting the learners to produce lots of varied and useful work for us.
We provided placements for more than 10 learners in total, for up to three weeks for most of them, and for a further two months for one learner after he completed the Make It Digital scheme, up until he successfully found a job. Here is a link to the project: http://creativealliance01.wix.com/bbcmakeitdigital
The tasks we provided for the learners to work on included:
- Writing a press release
- Writing hundreds of tweets for us to promote our work and projects and partners, and to get conversations going on social media
- Researching potential clients for us to offer specialised services to
- Writing, directing, filming and editing a promotional video for Friendly Creatives and a potential viral video contributing to the debates about changes to the BBC’s Top Gear
- And much more!
